Don Davis knows credit unions exist to serve their members — not pad the wallets of Wall Street bankers. Congressman Davis has stood with credit unions and their members by co-sponsoring legislation to outline clear rules for digital financial markets and to give credit unions more flexibility in offering longer-term loans, so members have more options when they need them most. 
 
Davis is currently pushing to pass a new law that would give credit unions more flexibility to extend the length of loans they can offer their members. This can help members cover unexpected medical expenses, pay for a child’s education, or pay for urgent home repairs. 

Davis is working to pass the bipartisan Task Force for Recognizing and Averting Payment Scams (TRAPS) Act to fight financial fraud.  Davis knows that despite credit unions’ best efforts to keep members informed about threats and protect members’ accounts, today’s fraudsters are relentless and keep finding new ways to scam people out of their hard-earned money. 
 
The TRAPS Act would create a multi-agency task force to identify effective payment scam prevention efforts, helping keep North Carolina families one step ahead of scammers and keeping our money where it belongs—safe in our accounts.
